As with most fans, I was as avidly intrigued by his private life as I was with his onscreen "lives". Based on several biographies written about him over the years, it was Lola's entrance into his 20 or 21-year-old life that saved him from completely self-destructing and that became the catalyst that led him to decide to better himself and soon after led to his becoming an actor. For some reason, Redford himself never said this in his interviews and bios., but anyone reading about his life will come away with that conclusion. For this reason, I thank Lola van Wagenen with all my heart for helping greatly in bringing Robert Redford into our lives. You are both true forces of nature, and, more importantly, two of nature's biggest defenders and protectors. I always thought of her as a role model.
Their work to benefit the humanity is the inspiration to become a better person and arise from the mediocrity of our daily routine and strive to do "good"and most of all never forget the real life values !
Thank you.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00027775674744950727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4170427668614576608.post-7950972731593733842009-02-20T13:41:00.000-08:002009-02-20T13:41:00.000-08:00Pam Boe is my wife Darlene’s sister, and many year...Pam Boe is my wife Darlene’s sister, and many years ago when she was house sitting for the Redfords Dar and I went to visit her in Sundance and were invited, totally against the rules mind you, to take a tour of the house. As you can imagine, it was a very nice place, very large, but homey, with a touch of log cabin and Native American art. The most memorable parts of the tour were Bob’s office (I found it interesting everyone called Robert Redford “Bob”), with pictures of a number of stars, including one of him and Paul Newman in the movie “The Sting”, secret passages for security, and sitting behind the wheel of the Porsche Carrera (which I assumed at the time was Bob's, but which may have been Lola's). I can still remember thinking at the time how upset they would be if they knew strangers were touring their home, but I like to think if they had known what a trip it was for us at time, perhaps Bob and Lola wouldn’t mind all that much.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
